About
Pockets of Time
“Pockets of Time” is a multisensory performance and work-in-progress by Melody Loveless that explores the role and presence of memory in our life through the senses, including sight, sound, taste, and smell. Performed with live musicians and actors, it is a collage of fragmented thoughts and scenes meant to mimic the fleeting moments of times and the pockets of time that we carry with us. Subjects it touches on include digital collective memory, the simulacra and memory of cities, dementia, and love.
In an attempt to raise intimacy, the piece is meant for a small audience and was limited to an audience of ten during its prototype performance as part of Loveless' thesis. They are currently researching new methodologies in accessing the senses and looking to expand this work in the future.
